The Message of Salvation

From the day you were born, you have been on a quest. You have been searching for something more, because deep down inside, you have a sense that life must have some kind of meaning and purpose beyond mere existence. Maybe you’ve even wondered if you’re the only person who feels this way.

You aren’t. Deep down inside, we are all searching.

Whether you are young or old, rich or poor, healthy or sick, male or female, you were designed to know God in a deep and personal way. You were made to have a relationship with God, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

How do you start a relationship with God?

No matter how good we try to be or how religious we think we are, we still fall miserably short of being a good or righteous person. That is because God's Word tells us "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23 HCSB). The Bible also says, "There is no one righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10 HCSB). This is because we can not become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us, “But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!” (Romans 5:8 HCSB). This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.

The Bible tells us, “Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19 HCSB). The word "repent" means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him.

Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church on Sunday. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him..." (Revelation 3:20 HCSB). God is faithful; you were called by Him into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

The word "fellowship" means relationship. If you desire to have a relationship with Jesus - not a religion, and not something to get you out of trouble - He wants to have one with you. "If you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation." (Romans 10:9-10 HCSB).

If you would like to have a relationship with Christ and be called a child of God, then ask Him [Jesus] to come into your life and save you. There are no magical words that need to be spoken. You need to Realize, Recognize, Repent, and Receive...and He is faithful to save you.

The best part of this whole process is that it does not matter how badly we have messed up. Jesus is powerful enough to save anyone from their sins - even the worst of us! Romans 10:13 says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." That's fantastic news! No matter how badly we have messed up, we can place our complete trust in Jesus, and He will wipe all of our sins off the face of the earth. Jesus is the bridge to life.

If you come to this conclusion and have invited Christ into your life, Jesus Christ has now taken residence in your life! Your decision to follow Christ means God has forgiven you and that you are now a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Please let us know if you have decided to be a follower of Jesus. We would like to pray for you and help you as you follow Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Click here to send a message to the Pastor about your decision to follow Christ.
